We’re back with our Q2 Cause!

The second quarter of the GumGum Gives Back Quarterly Causes initiative kicks off Thursday, April 22nd (Earth Day!) - and runs through Friday, May 7th.

Quarterly Causes (founded by Culture Crew) works to focus the power of the GumGum community on making an impact in one area of focus each quarter. Together we can educate ourselves and work to better the world - one cause at a time.

In honor of Earth Day, we've chosen Environmental Activism as our Q2 Quarterly Cause. With the help of the GumGum #eco-channel, we've selected two areas of focus: reducing, reusing and recycling/plastic waste and climate change.

We've identified seven organizations that are addressing these environmental issues in different ways; from reforestation to recycling hospitality hygiene products, from ocean protection to regenerative agriculture.

We're encouraging you to donate $15 or more to one of the below organizations and/or perform a direct-action donation from April 22nd - May 7th. All supporters will receive the Q2 2021 Environmental Activism Tee designed by GumGum's Henry Nguyen (pictured).

There are three ways to get involved this quarter:

Option 1) Donate at least $15 to one of the below organizations:

• Friends of the Earth - Environmental Justice

• Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) - Environmental Protection/Conservation

• Rodale Institute - Regenerative Agriculture

• National Forest Foundation - Reforestation

• The Story of Stuff Project - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle / Over-consumption

• Surfrider Foundation - Plastic Pollution/Ocean Protection

• Clean The World Foundation - Recycled Hygiene Products

Option 2) People's Choice - Choose this option if you have a non-profit that's near and dear to you and not included in our suggested list.

Option 3) Direct Action - Prefer a hands-on approach? Here are a few suggestions to get started!

• Do some "spring cleaning" and donate items/clothing you no longer use to your local thrift store or facilitate a clothing swap

• Go on a walk in your neighborhood, beach or local park and pick up trash along the way

• Plant a tree, start a community garden or begin growing your own vegetables

Q2 Team Goal: 100 GumGummer participation (up from 50 in Q1)

Choose Option 1 or 2?

Save a copy of your donation receipt, go to our Quarterly Causes + Q2 Tee Form, attach your donation receipt under ‘Attach your Donation Receipt here’ and complete your sizing and address information.

Choose Option 3?

Take a photo of you completing your direct action donation and post it to the #eco-channel slack. Go to our Quarterly Causes + Q2 Tee Form, check the box under 'I opted for a Direct Action donation' and complete your sizing and address information.
