Homelessness in Global Majority Groups in the UK

Homelessness is a pervasive issue that affects millions of people worldwide. However, it disproportionately impacts the LGBTQ+ community, particularly LGBTQ+ youth. In this article, we will explore the underlying causes of homelessness among LGBTQ+ individuals, the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth, and the ways in which society can work together to address this issue with understanding, compassion, and inclusivity.

There are multiple causes to why people can become homeless. According to various studies, more than 50% of all cases are attributed to job loss and substance abuse. This happens to people of different ages, gender and race.

On the other hand, there is also a cause that is not widely included in all of those research papers even though it’s been happening for centuries. It’s called war.

This quarter, the EMEA VOICE Coalition is excited to lead our GumGum Gives Back: Quarterly Cause initiative with a focus on aiding and supporting those who are suffering from homelessness and all the associated suffering which comes with it. Click through to see how you can support!
