International Pronouns Day

Today is International Pronouns Day, which seeks to make respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns commonplace. Everyone deserves to be referred to in a way that makes them feel seen & comfortable, and pronouns are an important aspect of that!

Here are some best practices to ensure that we are all respecting and acknowledging each persons’ preferred gender pronouns.

Display Your Pronouns
People at our company and across all social media platforms are displaying their pronouns in their profiles (if they are comfortable doing so!) to normalize conversations of gender identity and eliminate any confusion/assumptions. You can add your pronouns to your Slack display name and to your Slack bio.

Be Safe With Pronouns
When you are referring to anyone, whether it's someone in this company or a customer, phase out gender-specific “he” and “she,” unless you unequivocally know that your audience identifies as one or the other. You can use the singular "they" to be safe! i.e. "Their favorite holiday is Halloween."
