Happy Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! I wanted to share a post on one of my personal favorite Chinese dishes to eat: Tong Sum Fun (in Chinese and honestly don't know how to translate this in English). The best description of this dish is essentially a simple but delicious macaroni soup. This is a tradition in my family along with many others. You can also find this dish in HK (Hong Kong) style cafes. There is no other person that can make this dish perfect EXCEPT my grandma. When I lived in New York, I made this dish every time I was homesick. The recipe I currently have is lot of eyeballing as opposed to exact so sometimes it will taste better or worse than the last time I made it (lol).

Ingredients:
1) Small shell pasta (cook al dente or however you prefer)
2) Ham, spam (recommended) or hot dogs
3) Swanson Chicken Broth (8 cups/64oz)
4) WHITE PEPPER (VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE)
5) Soy Sauce
6) Green onions

How to cook: You boil the small shell pasta according to package or however you like it. After pasta is done, strain it and run it under cold water to stop the cooking process (if not the noodles will get too soft). Cut up the meat you chose and bring the Swanson chicken broth to a boil and add the meat. Add one shake of white pepper and a slash of soy sauce (add a little bit of water if it's too salty). Add the pasta back into the soup and add the green onions. Ready to eat!
